It's OK

If no one has told you today, let me be the first to make this announcement: IT'S OK!!! It's ok that you forgot to let the dog in this morning, it's ok that you didn't get everything on the infamous "to do list" done, it's ok that your kid is having chicken nuggets for dinner... again. IT'S SERIOUSLY OK. Close your eyes and take a 5 second breath. Feel better? Good, now let's get to it! We need to give ourselves a break from time to time. I'm not saying stop striving for greatness, but I am saying stop striving for perfection. Perfection is an idea that does not work in reality, kinda like holding your breath to stop the hiccups. You can hold on as long as you want, but that's not what makes them go away. We have to start being realistic with ourselves and our lives. If you know that you get off of work at 5:30, stop expecting to have dinner done and the family eating together by 6, then being mad at yourself because it didn't happen. Give yourself a break and be more realistic. Did everyone eat dinner? Then count that as a success! Some days will be better than others, and that's how it's supposed to be. But the world is tough enough, we don't need to beat ourselves down for being great instead of perfect.
In closing remember: Beauty is in the imperfections.
